Treatment of Acne Scarring

The best treatment for acne scarring is a combination therapy. At Khrom Aesthetics we will assess your skin and prepare a customized plan of treatment.

Intensif, the most technologically advanced RF treatment therapy available today. The Intensif treatment handpiece provides the most effective dermal skin remodeling, deep within the skin to revive and rejuvenate the natural production of new collagen and elastin. Treatment with the Intensif triggers the skin’s natural healing process, rejuvenating and refreshing the skin while reducing the appearance of wrinkles, acne and traumatic scars in all skin types.

Skin Resurfacing with the Pixel Laser

The Pixel® laser provides a safe and effective treatment for aged and scarred skin with little physical or social downtime. Pixel represents the best of both worlds for skin resurfacing: it combines the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach with the patient comfort level and convenience of a non-ablative approach. It improves the quality and texture of the dermis while it stimulates collagen regeneration. Skin resurfacing is a gradual process that happens over several treatments. Treatments are fast, thanks to the large spot size laser and ease of use.
Pixel is far less severe in its heat distribution than CO2 lasers, therefore it provides a gentler experience, causes fewer temporary side effects and allows for more rapid healing. With the Pixel laser, we have the ability to personalize each treatment and address any area of concern, from acne scarring to enlarged pores, and improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

IPL will help decrease discoloration from scars. If the scars look brown or red they will lighten and look less noticeable after the IPL.
When performed by the right professional, IPL increases collagen production & effectively improving skin texture, eliminating discolorations, reducing pore size, and minimizing wrinkles and fine lines.

Sculptra for Acne Scars

Sculptra Aesthetic is an injectable, biocompatible filler used to create volume and stimulate collagen production. It’s a good choice to treat certain types of acne scars, especially in the hands of experienced injectors. Most patients require a series of three treatments, but the results can last up to two years.

Subcision uses a special nokor needle to untether a bound down scar created by fibrous bands left over from cystic acne. The skin is numbed with local lidocaine injections, the needle is used to break up the fibrous bands and the bruises that form are actually used to elevate the scar from its previous position. Ice is held to control the swelling and the procedure may leave bruising and swelling for three to seven days.

Cross Method for Ice Pick Scars

TCA CROSS is a nice technique where high concentration (100% TCA) is placed into a deep acne scar (usually referred to as an ice pick scar). It has been found to be an effective treatment option for ice pick scars, though it usually leaves scabs for about 2 weeks in the treated areas. 100% TCA is commonly placed deep into ice pick scars in a precise, pinpoint fashion. Multiple treatment sessions are necessary for best results. After the individual deep scars are improved the results are discussed with the patient whether a milder concentration TCA peel, 4 to 6 sessions of iPixel, or an aggressive Plasma Resurfacing treatment would be the best option for overall textural improvement.
